Myriota launches AssetHawk for global satellite asset tracking

Myriota has launched AssetHawk, a rugged 5G NTN tracker globally. The device targets asset visibility beyond cellular coverage, with movement-aware reporting and up to 10 years’ battery life aimed at trailers, containers, pallets, and unpowered equipment.

Myriota has launched AssetHawk, a long-life asset tracker designed to extend visibility to assets operating beyond the limits of terrestrial mobile networks, and to do so with a standards-based approach aligned to 5G Non-Terrestrial Network (NTN) connectivity.

The supply-chain use cases are familiar, even if the connectivity method is not. Trailers drift through mixed-carrier networks, containers sit idle in remote yards, and leased equipment rotates across sites where coverage is variable, intermittent, or simply absent. In those gaps, traditional cellular trackers can default to silence, and maintenance-heavy approaches, such as frequent battery swaps, tend to erase the business case at scale.

AssetHawk is built around Myriota’s HyperPulse connectivity and operates as a 3GPP Release 17-compliant 5G NTN device. The company is targeting deployments where global coverage and predictable operating life are the gating factors, rather than high-frequency telemetry. Technical specifications published by Myriota include high-precision GNSS location tracking (4 m accuracy), an IP68-rated enclosure, UV and impact resistance, and an operating temperature range of -40°C to +60°C. The unit uses two user-replaceable AA batteries and is positioned for up to 10 years of operation under daily reporting configurations.

The product is also designed around “edge practicality”. Myriota says the tracker installs in minutes, with flexible mounting options, and integrates via a RESTful API into existing visualisation and analytics platforms, leaning into a reality of asset tracking projects: operators rarely want yet another standalone dashboard. A built-in accelerometer supports adaptive reporting, increasing update frequency when movement is detected to improve event visibility while managing power consumption.

AssetHawk is designed to flip that equation. By delivering global coverage, predictable multi-year life and straightforward integration in a single device, we’re giving solution providers and systems integrators a way to scale tracking profitably, even for assets that were previously too remote or low-value to justify a tracker.”

Myriota is positioning AssetHawk for transport and logistics, equipment leasing, mining, and agriculture, where the combination of long dwell times, harsh environments, and patchy coverage pushes operators either to accept “known unknowns” or to spend disproportionately on monitoring. The company has also signalled an optional Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) capability, intended to pull condition data from external sensors, including temperature and vibration, which would broaden the device’s role from location-only tracking into basic condition monitoring.

The wider market signal is the normalisation of satellite IoT as a mainstream supply-chain tool, rather than a niche for remote industrial monitoring. By leaning on 3GPP standards, Myriota is also betting that operators and integrators will increasingly demand interoperability, predictable security architecture, and clearer deployment patterns, particularly where government and regulated enterprise customers are involved.
