Signode brings integrated automation to MODEX

Signode is taking integrated automation to MODEX in Atlanta. Its latest demonstrations link end-of-line equipment, AMR handling, and automated storage into a connected warehouse workflow.

IN Brief:

  • Signode is using MODEX 2026 to present packaging, robotics, pallet handling, and storage automation as one connected operational system.
  • The company’s Atlanta line-up centres on stretch wrapping, cobot palletising, case handling, strapping, and its StorFast ASRS platform.
  • The strategy reflects a wider shift away from stand-alone equipment purchases towards integrated warehouse and end-of-line architectures.

Signode will use MODEX 2026 in Atlanta to push a broader automation message than a single-machine product launch. At booth B8311, the company is set to show how pallet wrapping, case handling, robotics, autonomous transport, and automated storage can be combined into one linked material flow system rather than treated as isolated purchases.

The most eye-catching demonstration pairs the new Octopus Prestige automatic stretch wrapper with an AMR forklift, a combination aimed squarely at warehouses and end-of-line operations that want to reduce manual pallet moves while tightening load containment consistency. Signode launched the Octopus Prestige last year as a high-volume wrapper with simplified mechanics, floor-level service access, and tighter control over film use and containment force. That makes it a logical showpiece for operations trying to balance throughput, uptime, and consumables cost.

Alongside that, Signode is also bringing a collaborative palletising cell built around its LDX-RC case opener and LDX-RTB semi-automatic case sealer, signalling a continued push into modular automation for sites that are not ready for full lights-out investment but still need more repeatable output. The company’s StorFast ASRS offer adds the warehouse-density angle. Built as a cart-based pallet storage and retrieval system, StorFast is pitched around space utilisation, higher throughput, and tighter links to logistics management software.

That buying conversation has shifted over the past few years. Operators are still interested in individual machines, but the harder question is how wrapping, movement, storage, and data exchange work together across the full outbound cycle. Signode is clearly using MODEX to argue that packaging vendors can now compete for a bigger slice of the warehouse automation budget.
