European logistics monitoring company CLCircular has achieved B Corp certification, becoming the first business in its segment using IoT sensing technology to do so.
The move puts formal governance and accountability language around a model the company has been pushing since launch: supply chain monitoring built on reusable hardware rather than disposable trackers. CLCircular rents out connected devices for shipment monitoring, then recovers, refurbishes, and redeploys them through its own reverse logistics operation. In a market where visibility tools often arrive with an unspoken trail of battery waste, damaged units, and forgotten single-use hardware, that is a more consequential distinction than the certification label alone suggests.
Founded in 2020, the company has built an international network covering more than 400 destinations and works with customers including Del Monte, Freskbana, and Axionlog. Its sensors monitor variables such as temperature, light, and location, aimed at reducing cargo loss, improving transport security, and giving customers a clearer record of what actually happened in transit.
CLCircular says it now recovers more than 85% of its sensors, and that device reuse alone avoided 191,557 kg of CO2-equivalent emissions in 2025. That is only part of the operational case. The company argues that real-time monitoring also helps prevent spoilage, identify route-level issues earlier, and reduce disputes around shipment condition, particularly in cold chain and other high-sensitivity movements.

B Corp certification assesses company-wide performance across governance, workers, community, environment, and customers. That broader lens matters here because CLCircular is not only selling a monitoring tool. It is arguing that the hardware model behind the tool should count as part of logistics performance. In other words, what happens after the shipment ends is part of the service, not an afterthought pushed onto the customer.
That is where the company’s model begins to stand apart. Real-time tracking is no longer unusual in high-value or temperature-sensitive supply chains. The harder question is whether the visibility layer can scale without generating its own waste stream or cost burden. By keeping ownership of devices, managing recovery, and spreading the hardware cost across repeated use cycles, CLCircular is trying to answer that question with process rather than branding.
The B Corp label will not alter how a shipment is monitored on the ground. What it does do is subject the wider business model to a more formal test. For a company whose proposition rests on reusing devices again and again, that is a relevant pressure point. Plenty of logistics technology businesses talk about circularity. Fewer build the reverse loop into the operating model.
